To get a true reflection through data regarding the positive effects and benefits from surfing is a hard task.
After much research and investigating we thought we would find a way of measuring this for ourselves.
"Through Exposure" ( STL 2016 ) A Reflective Framework.
In an attempt to gather beliefs, knowledge and evidence in this complex and fascinating area that connects good health and surfing, we are asking all you water lovers out there, three simple questions reflecting on your experience in the great surf.
How do you feel Before, During and After being in the surf?
Measurement will be Narrative - your stories!
At STL we believe that surfing is a form of Exposure and that by taking to the water in a surf session, people will move positively through Exposure and that is where the magic happens.
Over the last few years we have been collecting this data through the written version of the framework with our clients.
Now we believe that by producing a film that collects the experience of different people this will be an informative platform to enhance this.
So we are asking you to get in touch if you would like to feature in the film and be part of this by sharing your story, beliefs, knowledge and evidence.
We will be uploading a trailer soon, which will give an example to anyone that wishes to be part of this.
We would love to hear from you!
We have a passion and drive to prove the amazing positive impact that surfing has holistically within our health culture
Emotionally,
Mentally and
Physically.
At STL we make it our goal to help people improve their health in the surf by supporting and guiding them through the natural therapy of the ocean.
We are mental health practitioners with a love and respect for the ocean and believe we can help others to heal, recover and maintain good health through the use of an alternate and natural environment.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that the film will give food for thought and encourage you to want to share the passion that we all have to demonstrate what we truly believe to be a unique experience when we step into the ocean to ride that wave.
Hopefully it will create some movement,
Kia Kaha
